Jezebel readied the area for the spell. It required little, but she was not taking any chances. A circle was drawn around her and the dragon, and she made sure it was as perfect as she could make it. This spell would work. She positioned the book so that the first stars would best light the words. She did not want to make a mistake.
With these steps taken care of, Jezebel and the dragon settled down into the center of the circle, and slowly, exactly, Jezebel read aloud the words from the book:
“Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight. Alakzaam, alakazoo, make myself beautiful, and the dragon too.”
There was a slight tingle on her skin, a shifting of the cells, a renewing. She felt her skin draw tight against her cheekbones. She felt her cheekbones pull upward a bit. Her lips filled out. And she knew it had worked.
With tears glistening in her eyes, she turned her head to see what had become of the dragon, and she had to stifle a moan and a squeak.
She was now beautiful, of that she was sure, but the poor dragon seemed more misshapen with the hair and eyes of the witch. And he asked, “Am I as beautiful as you?”

Well, surely, if the spell really worked, than the witch would have used it on herself before now. So, the fact that they’re both turning into her only makes sense.
