In which a plan is laid

“No, you’re not ugly” said the dragon. “I think you are beautiful.”

“Really?” Jezebel was totally shocked.

“Yes, really.”

“Oh.” Jezebel paused, taken aback. She thought for a moment. “I’m sorry I was mean to you. I’m sorry I kicked you and hit you. Will you forgive me?”

“I’m sorry too. I’ll forgive you if you can forgive me. I shouldn’t have attacked you. I was very sad, I wanted to be pretty. You made me feel ugly because you had such shiny clothes.” The poor creature started to sob again.

“Don’t do that. Stop it, silly dragon. Maybe together we can find a way to make us both feel beautiful. But we can’t if you are sitting there in tears. Come on. think. What is it we can do?”

Finally, the dragon got himself under control, and the two of them put their minds to work. What could they do? They talked and talked and talked all through the afternoon before they finally reached a decision.

I really like how this illustration turned out… Might be my favorite so far.

Very nice illustration, and very engaging storyline. I like it. Girl meets dragon. Dragon likes girl. Girl runs away from dragon because of unknown girlish issues. Dragon eats city. It’s your traditional love story.
