In which a conflict is resolved

They tossed and turned together in the mud for what felt like hours and was really only a couple of minutes. But a couple of minutes was enough for Jezebel. She raised her fist out of the tangle they had become, and struck with all the force she had inside her.

She hit the dragon squarely across the nose, sending vibrations through his body and all the way down to his tail and knocking off every last one of the pieces of cloth he had glued to himself. All the dragon could do was stare.

He stared until the very last piece floated (or rather flopped) to the ground. Then, he dropped to the ground, curled up in a fetal position, and cried. He didn’t just cry, he sobbed. “Life is so unfair. For once, I was beautiful. It felt so wonderful. Now I am nothing again, nothing but a sad, muddy, pathetic overgrown lizard.” He sobbed so deeply and strongly that the ground shook softly in compassion, and Jezebel’s anger melted away.

So…what about Jezebel’s dress makes it so shiny?

Well, compared to the plain, dull dragon, anything could appear shiny, although I’d wager, seeing as how Jezebel is a princess, that gold or silver has been woven into her dress.
